Full Stack Engineer (Java, C#) from Jamaica joined SIer company with 4.5M
This is Muramoto from IT JOBs in Japan.
This time, we would like to introduce a Jamaican national who joined a Tokyo-based SIer company, which is one of our clients that we support in recruiting foreign engineers.
<Company> Employer
Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan
Size: 300 employees
Sales: 4 billion yen
Business: System consulting, system design and development of web services
The company's strength lies in system development that incorporates cutting-edge technology and creates customer services from the upstream. Due to their steady growth, they have a shortage of PMs and engineers, and are focusing on mid-career hiring that will enable immediate results. The company is engaged in the development of business systems for finance, manufacturing, and distribution, and the construction of e-commerce sites, mainly for semi-major to medium-sized companies.
In the field of web application development, the company hires engineers from Asia, Europe, and the United States, and has a highly skilled multinational culture.

<28-year-old male: Full Stack Engineer from Jamaica
He is a 28 year old male from Jamaica and has been living in Japan for about 1.5 years (teaching English conversation in Yamanashi Prefecture). He has had a strong interest in Japan since he was a student due to anime and hopes to work in Japan for a long time after this. He has a total of about 4 years of experience as a programmer for two companies in his home country of Jamaica.
In addition to his 4 years of development experience in his home country (mainly Java and c#), he is currently working on advanced technologies such as React and Python. He decided to join the company because he found the company's engineer-first environment attractive.
Although his Japanese proficiency was at the JLPT N3 level at the time, he was highly motivated to improve his Japanese language skills, including taking Japanese lessons to raise his Japanese level.
Since joining the company, his commitment to projects, inquisitiveness about technology, and his unique character have made him a favorite of the CEO and other engineers in the company.
Many native English speakers who have engineering experience in their home countries but have a low Japanese level (N4 or N3 on the JLPT) find that teaching English as a foreign language is their first career after coming to Japan.
We are very happy to be able to help find talented people with skills and support them in changing jobs to companies and environments where they can make the most of their skills and be active in Japan. We also helped him improve his Japanese level by providing online Japanese lessons for about six months after he joined the company.
We look forward to your further success in the future!
